THE WHALE

THE WHALE

The Whale

The image is about how it feels to face an overwhelming task, a feeling of trying to fish a whale with a crab fishing rod. But also how it feels to fish words as a dyslexic in the face of larger texts.

The text on the whale tells stories about having dyslexia.

The text on the whale:

What is life if not borrowed time? But I was told I was not meant to live, my time was not freely given, but stolen. And for my crime I was punished with a handicap, just a little one, but it is enough. Shuffling my writing, obscuring my reading, makes me unfit for a society that does not tolerate differences or mistakes. Sometimes during the storms of life, I wish I could return my stolen lot to the rightful owner. But the happy soul doesn't want it back yet, while I feel my punishment every time I am judged for my dyslexia. Is the unaffected soul perhaps happy about its lucky escape? Glad to let me have it for a little time.
