DYSLEXFISH

Dyslexfish

Dyslexfish, a larger project about growing up with dyslexia. Here I reflect on the challenge and experiences of having a disability. The main work in this series is the title work, where words are represented by green fish, patterned with poems written in my broken English about experiences with dyslexia. The text is often backwards, upside down or mirrored to give the viewer a feeling of being dyslexic. This painting is based on a dream, where fish made of letters were impossible to catch, a feeling that for me describes my situation. The green fish are often something that recurs in my art, together with the owl that represents school.
